Customer First UK Progress

Customer First UK Progress

National Roll-out

By Keith Ramsay, Chief Executive, Customer First UK

As Chief Executive, it is always great to share good news and what is particularly pleasing at the start of 2007 is to celebrate over 560 organisations who have committed to Customer First. From our strong base in the founding regions, we are now working with organisations in all of the English regions.

During Autumn 2006, we were delighted to learn of the decision by Advantage West Midlands, the Regional Development Agency in the West Midlands, that their new Information, Diagnostic and Brokerage (IDB) providers, Gateway West Midlands, West Midlands Brokerage Ltd and MAS (the Manufacturing Advisory Service) would be working towards achieving Customer First as part of their contractual arrangements from April 2007.This is great news as we already have a number of excellent ambassadors for the Customer First Standard in that region. We are confident that these new recruits will assist the Customer First team in spreading our message to the business community in the West Midlands.

We also welcome the news that the new Business Link provider in the East of England – EEIDB - are committing to Customer First. We now have over 25 committed organisations in this region and recently, I attended a breakfast with members of the business community in Newmarket and heard excellent case studies from NWES and the Goldsmith Management Centre on successes that they had enjoyed from achieving the Customer First Standard.

Just a couple of days before St Andrews Day at the end of November, we welcomed our first Scottish organisation into the fold – Glasgow-based Awards UK have committed to achieving Customer First and will be blazing a trail that undoubtedly others will follow.
